Offensive Lineman
Wesley Britt

College: Alabama
Year: Senior
Height: 6’7"
Weight: 313
Birthday: November 21, 1982

Alabama left tackle Wesley Britt has fared well the last three seasons in his matchups against the quality defensive linemen of the Southeastern Conference. In 2002, his last full season, his coaches graded him out at least 96% in 12 of 13 games, including perfect ratings against LSU and Ole Miss and 99% against Oklahoma and Auburn.

The powerful Britt is a road grader in the running game and has the size and wingspan to keep pass rushers at bay. He is also a very polished player who has worked hard to refine his technique. Britt is the leader of the Crimson Tide offensive line and will suit up this fall as a graduate student, having earned his marketing degree last December.

Britt has not played since suffering a gruesome compound fracture of his left leg last October in Alabama’s game against Tennessee. The injury required surgery to insert a rod and screws to support the leg. Although he did not participate in spring practice, the Tide expect Britt to be ready to go this season. Speed rushers gave him the most trouble before his injury, so any loss of quickness due to the injury would be very problematic.
