This is one Atari that won’t get played. Atari Bigby is the big hitting strong safety that is more likely to be the one pushing all the buttons for an NFL defense some day.
With a head full of dreads that might make even Ricky Williams blush and Mike McKenzie envious, Bigby really draws the attention of scouts because of his hard-nosed style of play on the field. An All-Conference defensive back in the emerging Mid-American conference, the Jamaican vegetarian has elite speed to man either sideline and the football smarts to make him a part of the play on nearly every down.
While Bigby is most effective in run support and has even spent a little time as a cornerback, pass coverage is certainly not his forte. He’s not all that tall either, something that should limit his upward mobility into the first round.
Bigby is a mature leader for the Golden Knights, and he has proven capable of showing up in big games. In losses against ranked opponents Virginia Tech and West Virginia as a junior, Bigby racked up 10 tackles in the former and two forced fumbles in the latter.
